Effective January 1, 2024, Fluorchem Corporation suspended the commercial sale of propylene class fluorochemical aerosol stain repellant products due to Canadas changing environmental and health regulations on Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) prohibiting aerosol use of some PFAS chemicals citing concerns around cancers & reproductive damage.
PFAS aerosol manufacturing operations have since been terminated and resources redirected to produce feedstock for the company’s blowing and inerting agents program. Research & development work on newer propylene class products was also terminated before year-end 2024. Resources from this program have since been re-allocated.
